Anna M. DiMaggio (b.2001) grew up near New Orleans where she was exposed to a rich and diverse world of music. She started her musical journey by playing the clarinet and singing in church choir. Her composition career began at Centenary College of Louisiana where she studied under Dr. James Eakin III. She quickly became a prolific composer, telling stories of her own life and beyond. She graduated with dual degrees in Music Composition and Philosophy, with research experience in the worlds of underrepresented female composers and musical aesthetics. She is a well-rounded composer, having an understanding of current music technology, historical styles, and experience writing for various instrumentation.

She has had several premieres of both choral and instrumental works. Some notable performances include a commissioned work from the Centenary Wind Ensemble, a choral competition win sponsored by the Bach Society of Dayton, Ohio, a small ensemble piece premiered in the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, and several pieces commissioned and performed by various church choirs across the south. She continues to perform, research and write on musical aesthetics, and compose new music that brings the listener through a unique story.

She is the founder of United by Creation, an educational non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting the voices of minority creators.
